So… this is hard to admit. Our original hose and bite valve wasn’t the greatest. The hose was kind of kinky and the valve was pretty slow. Sorry for that. We knew we could do better so we set out to come up with the best hose and bite valve on the market. I think we’ve done it!
Let’s start with the bite valve. It now has an even more ergonomic 90 degree angle to make drinking in multiple positions easier without kinking the hose. The on/off switch is much improved as well. It’s now a simple push button that is clearly labeled. Finally, and maybe most importantly, it has a HIGH flow rate! And it’s not just a little better - it’s a gusher. It’s all capped off with a light weight debris cover to keep the bite valve clean.
Now, onto what everybody’s thinking about - the hose. We will soon be offering 3 different hoses. Our first new hose is the insulated version that’s been part of our winter kit since the beginning of December. This hose is very flexible yet kink resistant. The insulation is applied directly to the hose so you can still cut the length of hose you need and it will still be insulated over the entire length. This insulated hose is great for cool and hot weather. It is also usable in short durations in very cold weather. We chose not to super insulate this hose because of the added bulk that would be required. However, we’re not ignoring the extreme cold. There are things in development…
The other 2 new hoses are identical to each other except for the color. Because choices are cool. Why should we all be the same if we’re all different? Available in clear or orange, this hose is a multi-layer miracle. It is very, very flexible and still not kinky. (There’s a joke there but let’s keep our focus on the hose.) This hose is also multi-layer and for good reason. The TruSwig liner in this hose provides the cleanest taste available in a hydration hose. The orange is an opaque color and looks high speed. The clear is not crystal, but it’s still very easy to see your fluid flow.
Oh, and last but certainly not least - we've got some much requested accessories! A quick disconnect and a hose clip. I really like using the quick disconnect near the bottle. It makes it really easy to take the bottle and leave the cap on without removing the hose from your pack. The hose clip will fit 1" or 3/4" straps and helps keep the hose from swinging around during your vigorous activities!
